You can use the URL at the top of your browser to link to a ClinicalKey chapter. However, this link is not stable and it might cause log in issues later.

If you need a stable link to keep permanently, for example on a presentation slide or on Blackboard, you will need to follow these steps:

  • Navigate to the chapter you want to link to on Clinical Key and copy the link for example:

https://www.clinicalkey.com/#!/content/book/3-s2.0-B9780323722193000487

  • Replace the highlighted part of the link (#!) with shibboleth for example:

https://www.clinicalkey.com/shibboleth/content/book/3-s2.0-B9780323722193000487

  • Prefix the link with the following text for example:

https://auth.elsevier.com/ShibAuth/institutionLogin?entityID=https%3A%2F%2Fopenathens.aston.ac.uk%2Foala%2Fmetadata&appReturnURL=

  • Your link should now look like this and will take you to the book chapter via a login so that you have access to the full-text:

https://auth.elsevier.com/ShibAuth/institutionLoginentityID=https%3A%2F%2Fopenathens.aston.ac.uk%2Foala%2F metadata&appReturnURL=https://www.clinicalkey.com/shibboleth/content/book/3-s2.0-B9780323722193000487
