To login into online resources you will to use your Aston username and Password. Your username is in the format username@aston.ac.uk 

In some instances you may need to follow multi-factor authentication in addition to your Aston login. For full information check our webpage

Troubleshooting 

If you're having trouble accessing what you need some steps you can try are:

  • Check we have access to the resource you are trying to access by checking Library Search for the article, book or database
  • Try clearing your cache and browser history
  • Try a different browser
  • Try logging into another university system such as email or blackboard to make sure your log in is working

If you are still not able to log in and see an error message after logging in, take a screenshot and get in touch. 

Using the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) off campus

If you are off campus and having trouble accessing online resources the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure service (VDI) allows you to remotely log on to a machine on campus and work as if you are on campus. 
 VDI is provided by Digital Services, full information can be found on Solve.

Once you are logged into the virtual desktop you need to open up a browser in the normal way and go to the electronic resource that you want to access.
