You can still make full use of the library if you are:

  • a part time student
  • on a distance learning course
  • on your placement

Accessing online library

All of the Library's electronic resources can still be accessed as usual using your Aston username and password.

Accessing print books

We can post books out to you (UK and Ireland).

If these books are requested by another student, the items will need to be returned to us so it's worth checking whether there are e-books available to you that you can access online. The Library's ebook collection is ever-growing, and almost all of our journal subscriptions are electronic.

If you are abroad, we do not recommend taking physical Library books as they would need to be returned by courier before the due date if reserved by another student.

Scanned book chapters

The Library also offers scanned book chapters for distance learning students. To request a scanned chapter, you will need to complete a request form

Due to copyright restrictions each request requires a signature.  Electronic signatures are not accepted. More details and the request form can be found under the Serviced Scanning section of Using the print collection page.
