You can only reserve a book if all copies are already out on loan. If there is a copy available but you cannot find it on the shelf, please visit the Help Point on the ground floor of the Library for assistance.

Students and staff can have up to 8 books reserved at any one time. Registered visitors can have 2 books reserved at any one time.

Place a reservation

  • Find the book in Library Search, which can be accessed via the library homepage
  • When you have found the book that you would like to reserve, click on the title, then click on "Place Reservation" and click on the green tick.
  • This opens a new window and links you to the reservation screen. Log in with your Aston University username and password and the book will be reserved for you.

An email will be sent to your Aston email address as soon as the reserved items are available to collect but you can log into your Library Account to check on your reservations.

You can collect your reserved items from the Library Reception. If you do not collect a reserved book on time, it will be passed to the next person in the queue or returned to the shelves.
