If the Documents tab on the Web of Science platform is greyed out and you're unable to search for material, it may be that you've registered for a free account instead of accessing the site via the Library's subscription. Please contact us if this is the case and we'll ask the platform provider, Clarivate, to switch your account to full access.
In order to prevent this happening to begin with, it's important to only create a personal account on the Web of Science platform AFTER you've logged in via the Library's account. Log in to Web of Science via our Databases A-Z and then create a personal account to ensure optimal access. Creating a personal account isn't compulsory for access to Web of Science but it's useful if you'd like to make use of features such as saving search results and setting up alerts.
