EndNote is a reference management tool where you can store your references in a 'Library'.  The University has the desktop version of this software installed on all the University computers, In order to automatically export a reference in to a Word document, Word has to have the EndNote Add-In installed.  It should look something like this

If you can't see the EndNote ribbon in Word then there are two options:

(a) On a University computer - please make sure that you 'Launch' EndNote via the App screen and then launch Word.  If you launch Word first this may not always pick up the EndNote ribbon.

(b) If you are using your own computer - you will need to install the EndNote ribbon yourself.    Usually, this is when students use the online version of EndNote.

In EndNote online you need to choose the "Downloads" tab and then the installer for Windows or MAC.  Then follow the instructions on the screen
