The Free Student eTextbook Programme set up by Kortext in collaboration with major publishers and Jisc is an initiative to ensure students are able to access their core textbooks.

Access to these books will be added to your reading lists via Blackboard.

If you are an academic who is concerned about access to books for students on your modules please contact your Information Specialist and we will attempt to source electronic versions for you.

If you have trouble accessing titles on the Kortext platform on Internet Explorer try using Google Chrome or Firefox.

Scanned Chapter
If you have been told to read a specific chapter(s) of a book and we only have physical copies on the library shelves, you may wish to ask your lecturer to speak to the Library about getting a scan of this chapter put on your reading list.  if it is legally possible to do so, the scanned chapter will be uploaded to the reading list in PDF format and every student on the module will be able to access it.   Alternatively, contact your Information Specialist with the details of the module and lecturer name and they will liaise with the lecturer on your behalf.

eBook format
Alternatively, you could also contact your Information Specialist to check if an eBook version is available or whether the Library could purchase additional licences.
