You can reserve books online if they are all out on loan. You can't reserve a book if it is currently available to borrow - i.e. if it's on the shelves in the Library.
So if all 7 day and long loan copies of the book you want are out on loan you can reserve a copy via Library SmartSearch on and off-campus. You can have 5 active reservations at any one time. To reserve a book:
- first check on Library SmartSearch that all copies are out on loan
- then click on Reserve and follow the instructions displayed
- you will be prompted to enter your Aston University username and password
When the book is available for you to collect you will be sent an email to your Aston email address.
Reserved books are available for self-service collection on the Ground Floor near the Help Point and will be kept for you for 3 working days.
