If all 7 day and long loan copies of the book you want are out on loan you can reserve a copy via Library SmartSearch on and off-campus. You can have 5 active reservations at any one time. To reserve a book:
- first check on Library SmartSearch that all copies are out on loan
- then click on Reserve and follow the instructions displayed
- you will be prompted to enter your Aston University username and password
When the book is available for you to collect you will be sent an email to your Aston email account. Reserved books are available for self-service collection from the Ground Floor, near the Help Point and will be kept for you for 3 working days.
If you have fines to pay of over £50 or restrictions on your Library account you won't be able to reserve books. Please speak to someone at the Help desk on the ground floor of the Library in case of any difficulties
You can only reserve books if all copies of that book have been borrowed already and are out on loan. If copies are Available in the Library, then the book cannot be reserved so you can check the shelves.
If you have any difficulties, please speak to a member of staff at the Help Point.
