There are three options available to you to access the articles that are not part of Aston’s subscriptions, listed here in order of how quickly they will help you access the articles:

1.  Have a look for a PDF on Google Scholar
Sometimes PDF versions of subscription articles are uploaded (legally or illegally!) to the web, and Google Scholar is generally very good at finding these.  Just copy and paste the full article title into the Google Scholar search box, and look out for results which have a [PDF] link in the right hand column.

2.  Visit the University of Birmingham Libraries to access their printed collections
Visit the University of Birmingham Libraries website and click on “Free public membership” for information on accessing the University of Birmingham Libraries as a visitor.  You can search their catalogue online to see if the journal title you need is available there in print, but it may also be worth giving them a quick call before you make a special journey to check that what you want is going to be available.

3.  Order the article via Inter Library Loan
You may be able to order this article as an Inter-library Loan. See the Inter-library Loans LibGuide  for more information, and apply here

Hope that helps - if not, please do contact us at library@aston.ac.uk.
