7 day loan books can be borrowed for 7 days.
If the book is reserved, then the book cannot be renewed at the end of the 7 days and must be returned promptly to the Library on the due date.
However if it is not reserved, then the book can be renewed.

However, if a reservation is then placed after the renewal, then the system chooses the book which has been out the longest to recall. This item is then recalled and the borrower has 2 days to return it - this new due date will be in the email notification (sent to your Aston email address).

Long loan books can be borrowed for 8 weeks.
The minimum use allowed is 7 days.
If someone reserves this book and the user has had the book under 7 days then they will get a recall to tell them to return it at the end of minimum use period, i.e. they can have it for 7 days.  The new due date will be in the email notification (sent to your Aston email address).
If someone reserves this book and the user has had the book over 7 days, then they will get a recall to tell them to return it in 2 days time.  This new due date will be in the email notification (sent to your Aston email address).
