Thank you for your question. Whether it's important for you to get hold of the most recent edition of a book for your course will depend on the book itself and the subject area. Some text books have new editions published every couple of years, and the content doesn't change very much - check the dates of the previous and new editions to see what the difference in age is between the two. You can also consider how fast moving the subject area is - is new research likely to be providing information which will change aspects of the subject area?
The e-books we provide are identical to the hard copy texts in every way except the format. Therefore it's perfectly fine for you to read either the hard copy or the e-book version of any of your recommended texts. We do provide both formats where possible, but we are unable to offer all books as e-books due to restrictions from the publishers.
