When you are searching Library SmartSearch for a book, the results list will tell you whether we have the title in hard copy (print format) and / or as an e-book. If we don't have a title available as an e-book this usually means that the title is not available to purchase in this format. However, you can always contact your Information Specialist to double check this is correct.
If we do have the book title as an e-book, there are usually two options available to you.
Option 1: You can read the e-book online page by page or jump to specific chapters within the book
Option 2: You may also see an option to download the e-book. This allows you to download the book on to your device for a specific period of time (anything from 1 day to 14 days depending on the e-book platform and the publisher restrictions)
You will know if Option 2 is available when you log in to the e-book. If you can't see an option to download then it is not possible for that title because the publisher has requested it is prevented on the platform. If this is the case then you will need to read it online.
