Journal publisher websites allow you to find out what journals and journal articles they have published and the versions of papers that you find here are the ‘version of record’. The majority of the full text is only accessible either if you have a subscription or on a ‘pay-as-you-go basis’.

The Library has a range of subscriptions that we pay to gain access to the most important academic journals for Aston’s subjects. As a member of the university your username and password will grant you access. Our recommended route to is through Library Search from where you will be led through the right routes to logon as necessary. If you arrive on a publisher site through a different route. You will need to find a login which is likely to be called either ‘institutional’ or ‘shibboleth.’  Be warned that whilst we have access to a lot of content this doesn’t extend to everything.

ResearchGate is a completely different arrangement where authors add their publications or links to their publications if they choose to. Many Aston authors will participate in ResearchGate but neither the Library or Aston University has any formal relationship with it.
